Rhinoplasty Procedure
Rhinoplasty, also known as nose surgery, is a procedure designed to improve the shape, structure, and overall appearance of the nose. At Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, rhinoplasty is performed by Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons to support both aesthetic goals and personalised facial harmony.
This promotional package includes two rhinoplasty options: Closed Rhinoplasty and Open Rhinoplasty. Closed rhinoplasty is performed through incisions inside the nostrils and may be suitable for selected cases such as nose bridge enhancement with implant and mild to moderate refinement. Open rhinoplasty involves a small incision across the columella, the area between the nostrils, and may be suitable for cases that require more detailed nose correction.
What Is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that reshapes or refines the nose. It may involve adjusting the nose bridge, nasal tip, nostril shape, nose symmetry, or internal nasal structure, depending on the patient’s concerns and the surgeon’s assessment.
The goal of rhinoplasty is to create a nose shape that looks balanced with the patient’s facial features while maintaining a natural and refined appearance. Each treatment plan is customised based on the patient’s nose structure, facial proportions, aesthetic goals, and medical suitability.
Closed Rhinoplasty
Closed rhinoplasty is performed through incisions made inside the nostrils. Since the incisions are internal, there is no external incision across the columella.
Closed rhinoplasty may be suitable for selected cases such as:
- Nose bridge enhancement with implant
- Mild to moderate nasal refinement
- Patients who do not require extensive structural correction
- Patients suitable for rhinoplasty under local anaesthesia
Open Rhinoplasty
Open rhinoplasty involves a small incision across the columella, which is the tissue between the nostrils. This approach allows the surgeon to have wider visibility and access to the nasal structure.
Open rhinoplasty may be suitable for cases that require more detailed nose correction, such as:
- Cartilage grafting
- Implant insertion
- Tip refinement
- Nose asymmetry
- Revision rhinoplasty
- Structural support
- More complex nasal reshaping
Who May Be Suitable for Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty may be considered by individuals who:
- Want to refine the shape of their nose
- Want to enhance the nose bridge
- Are concerned about nose asymmetry
- Want to improve nasal tip shape
- Prefer a more balanced facial profile
- Need more detailed nose correction or structural support
- Are seeking rhinoplasty in Malaysia under medical supervision
Final suitability will depend on doctor consultation, medical history, nose structure, facial proportions, and individual treatment goals.
